Don Gallery is honored to announce ZHANG Ruyi's participation in ART'N DIOR at West Bund Art Center from 10 November to 15 November 2022.
Any timeless spirit is based on initial persistence and continuity, which, through time, condenses into an attitude. This classic Dior Lady handbag imprinted the dark pattern of Cannage on the surface is an imitation of chair surfaces from the 16th century. While giving ZHANG Ruyi a sense of classical and traditional language, it associates with the grid element in ZHANG's practice, inspired and extracted from the logic of daily life. Through the reinterpretation of the materials, ZHANG Ruyi considers the artwork as a container, implying views of "communication" between humankind, even if people do not exist in the scene.
