Overview
As an artist living in Shanghai, Qu Fengguo always attemps to keep the memory in the forms of abstract colors and lines. In his first solo exhibition at Don Gallery, he brought elements of Solar Terms, divisions of the solar year in the traditional Chinese calendar, into the series of Four Seasons.

Sowing in the spring, ploughing in the summer, harvesting in the autumn, preserving in the winter, these are our common sense in daily experience. While in Qu Fengguo’s works, the thinking and memory of four seasons are delivered by abstraction. Lines changed by widths and colors varied in densities are languages of the artist to communicate with the time and nature. Horizontal lines represent the passage of time and reframe different color zones; colors run into uncontrollable chances. Among them, there leaves the time.

You could surely have your perception and recollect your pieces of time. It is spring outside. Listen to the time. Listen to the inner voice of the artist. Come and bring your own story into the spring.
